It’s one of the first questions people ask after a crash, and a fair one. The honest answer: it depends on you, and a good plan says so up front.
What shapes the length of care
- The injury itself. A mild strain and an injury involving several areas of the spine are different situations.
- How soon you were seen. Getting evaluated early gives a clearer starting point. In Florida, PIP also generally requires initial care within 14 days of the accident.
- Your health before the crash. Earlier injuries, desk-heavy work, and general fitness all play a part.
- Your daily demands. A job that involves lifting or long drives may affect how symptoms behave between visits.
- The home program. Exercises and habit changes between visits are part of the plan.
How progress is checked
At Therapy & Injury, your chiropractic physician sets goals with you at the start (for example, turning your head to check a blind spot, or sleeping through the night), and rechecks them as care goes on. The plan changes based on how you’re actually doing, not a fixed number of visits.
If progress stalls, or anything suggests you need a medical evaluation or imaging, we refer you to an independent medical provider.
A word of caution
Be wary of anyone who promises a specific result or recovery timeline before examining you. Every person and every injury is different, and individual results vary.
